Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
I didn’t think I was going to enjoy this topic, but once I got started I really had fun! Originally I planned on doing a YA Fantasy specific list, but my friend over at Paws & Paperbacks did such a great one I knew I’d never match it. So here is my list of words commonly used in all of YA.
- It’s Not Me, It’s You; The Geography of You and Me; The Start of Me and You; The Summer After You and Me; The Distance From Me to You
- Kissing Max Holden; Anna and the French Kiss; The Kiss of Deception; The Winner’s Kiss
- Anna Dressed In Blood; Blood and Salt; Blood Passage; Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
4. Shadow Lands; Shadows; Shadow and Bone; Queen of Shadows
5. These Broken Stars; Where the Stars Still Shine; Starry Eyes; The Fault in Our Stars
6. Six of Crows; 36 Questions That Changed My Mind About You; Article 5; Tell Me Three Things; I Am Number Four
7. Everything, Everything; Now Is Everything; The Beginning of Everything; The Unexpected Everything; Not After Everything
8. Violent Ends; This Is Where It Ends; They Both Die at the End; This Adventure Ends; The End of Everything
9. Underwater; Thicker Than Water; Girl Underwater; Girl Out of Water; The Weight of Water
10. One Was Lost; Letters to the Lost; What I Lost; I Have Lost My Way; The Distance Between Lost and Found
And that’s it! What did you guys come up with this week?
I’ve seen a whole bunch of YA word lists today, but you have some unique ones. I love it! “Water” is one I’ve definitely noticed. “Everything” is also used a lot, isn’t it? Interesting.
Happy TTT!

Thanks so much, Susan! I had no idea “everything” would be in so many titles until I started really looking!

This is such a great list! It actually never dawned on me how frequently Star and Everything is used, but now I see them all over my bookshelf!

Thank you! I thought I would have such a hard time with this one but once I started the same words were EVERYWHERE!
