The X-Files Book Tag

xfilesToday is a sad Friday. I woke up to the news of the Santa Fe school shooting, so if you aren’t up for random blog posts today, I totally get it. But writing is a part of my self-care, so I’m doing the X-Files book tag today. In truth, I’ve never seen the X-Files. But I sort of get the gist, and the questions are descriptive enough to get me through, so let’s go!Thanks for the tag, Flying Paperbacks! I love tag posts, keep them coming!

Fox Mulder || Fox is known to have some “out there” beliefs, so name a book that you believe in despite everyone/ratings/reviews tell you perhaps isn’t that great

99 days

99 Days by Katie Cotugno is one of my favorites but it gets a lot of hate. People can’t get on board with the cheating, the love triangle, the brother vs. brother, the slut-shaming…I get it. There’s a lot of hard stuff in this one, and it can be hard to read. But I believe in this story. I believe in the characters.

Dana Scully || Just like the resident FBI skeptic, name a book that you’re skeptical of (because of hype, sketchy cover, etc.)

the book thief.jpg

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. A rare example of a WWII book that I haven’t read, but the hype is big on this one. I hear nothing but glowing reviews, but something in me is telling me I won’t like it as much as everyone else and then I’ll feel like I missed something…

I Want to Believe || What book do you believe, just like the famous tagline, will be your next 5 star read off of your TBR?

save the date

I’ve got my eye on you, Save the Date. Morgan Matson is a queen, and this might be cheating since I’ve already read an excerpt of this, but I highly suspect it’s going to get a lot of stars from me.

Aliens || Name a book on your TBR that is from a genre that seems out from another book world to you but still sounds super good.

a thousand pieces of you

I don’t read many time/universe jumping books, mostly because I get very confused. But A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray looks really good…

The Lone Gunmen || Name a book that comes along with an epic team just like these three hacking men

six of crows

The crew from Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo! This rag-tag team of outcasts trying to pull off a heist together has pretty much everything you could ever hope for.

Walter Skinner || Skinner is the boss that forever teeters on the edge of good and evil, so name a conflicting character for you (whether the character is just conflicted or you’re conflicted about your feelings for them).

illuminae files 3

Aidan from The Illuminae Files by the impeccable duo Jay Kristoff & Amie Kaufman. Is she good? Is she bad? Is she a she or a he or an it?

Cancer Man/ Cigarette Smoking Man || Name the worst book villain you can think of just like this smoking fiend who refuses to stay dead.

Jump in everybody, I’m tagging everyone who needs some light fun today!

This sounds like fun because I love The X-Files so I’ll try to do it on my blog one day.

I always see Six of Crows EVERYWHERE. I seriously need to get to reading that one day.

I might do this tag it seems so fun – I feel the same way about The Book Thief and have been avoiding reading it because I’m worried I won’t like it as much as everyone else. Really hyped books always make me a little nervous.
