Top Ten Tuesday-Best Character Names

ttt pug

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week’s topic: Best Character Names.

I don’t know how to categorize character names as anything other than ones I like, so here we go!
finnikin

Finnikin from the Lumatere Chronicles. Is this the best trilogy to ever exist? Pretty sure the answer is yes.

rafe

Rafe from Openly Straight. What is it about this name that I love? I don’t know, I just do. It’s unique and fits the character so well. Love him, love his name, love his story.

ezra

Ezra from the Illuminae Files. I was a fan of this name way before Pretty Little Liars made it popular. Blame it on Better Than Ezra.

heathcliff

Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights. The OG of unlikeable characters, but damn do I love his name.

noah shaw

Noah Shaw from the Mara Dyer and The Shaw Confessions trilogies. I adore Noah in every book, and something about his name just rolls off the tongue.

cath_wren

Cather & Wren from Fangirl. Do I particularly like either name? No, not really. Do I love that when their mom found out she was having twins she just split the name she had already decided on, Catherine, in two? YES.

sebastian_christian

Sebastian & Christian Kane from The Summer of Chasing Mermaids. A great love interest and his rad little brother who totally steals the show.

ronan_blue

Ronan & Blue from The Raven Cycle. Blue is such a different name, and it definitely fits her character. Ronan, I just love–character, name, and his OTP ship with Adam.

nox owen

Nox Owen from Throne of Glass. A small character in a handful of scenes in the first book of the series, but I’m really hoping for a reappearance in the finale. Names that end in X, they always get me.

rhysand

Rhysand from the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. He’s most often called Rhys, which sounds like Reese in my head, which is a name I’ve always loved. And he’s really hot, so there’s that.

That’s my top ten for this week! Who did you choose?
