Hey guys! I have SO MANY POSTS that I haven’t been able to write or get up yet, which has been really frustrating. I do most of my blogging at work, (#employeeoftheyear) and I’ve been working on a really big project. But it’s finally winding down, so I’m hoping to be able to get all of my posts and reviews up soon, and I thought I’d start with a tag I stole from my fave, BookishGeek!
1. Best book that you’ve read so far in 2018?
UM HI THIS IS HARD ALREADY. There have been too many great books in 2018. I’m doing the best 3. I don’t care.
2. Best sequel that you’ve read so far in 2018?
It wouldn’t be a Pages and Pugs list without a Katie Cotugno on it. This was a real favorite though. I adored being back with Gabe and Molly.
3. New release that you haven’t read yet but want to?
I’ve had this since release day and haven’t cracked it open yet. TOO MANY BOOKS TOO LITTLE TIME I WILL DIE WITH AN UNFINISHED TBR
4. Most anticipated release for the next half of 2018?
TOO HARD AGAIN. There are way too many that I’m crazy excited for. I’ll go with 2. I’m sticking with Bookish Geek’s answer, A Spark of Light, because it’s going to be amazing. Jodi had a few off years but last year’s release was ON POINT and this one looks timely and incredible. But before that comes The Darkest Legacy at the end of this month. One more time–if anything happens to my bbs, I am going to lose it.
5. Biggest disappointment of 2018?
This was my own fault. The synopsis and reviews told me more than I needed to know. The cover got me though.
6. Biggest surprise of 2018?
I have to stick with my buddy’s answer to this one, too. I’d never read Holly Black before, and I don’t read a ton of faerie books, because faeries are typically kind of assholes. This one was SUPER hyped so I didn’t think it would live up but GUYS IT TOTALLY DID! Lots of assholes, though. Definitely still lots of those. But seriously I have four different editions of this now. FOUR.
7. Favorite new (or new to you) author?
I didn’t read Zan Romanoff’s debut when it first came out, because it’s tagged as magical realism which isn’t really my jam. But when Katie Cotugno recommended her sophomore title over on Insta, I couldn’t not read it. And listen, I mean this as a compliment of the highest order when I say that I often legit forgot that I wasn’t reading one of Katie’s books. The writing, the characters…a review is coming on this one.
8. Newest fictional crush?
Oh did you mean who I added to my “Bookish Boyfriends” list on Goodreads this year? Let’s check.
Wait am I only supposed to pick one again? No. Absolutely not. 10. I’ll stop at 10.
Gabe, Ian, Lennon, Ezra, Nik, Ryhs (x2), Max, Mati, Owen, I’M SORRY IF I MISSED YOU I LOVE YOU
9. Newest favorite character?
Asha, with bonus Kady, Hanna, and Ella. Badass ladies
getting
shit
done
and
the
boys
they
rescue.
10. A book that made you cry?
I’m not typically a big crier, (Anymore. I used to cry at the drop of a hat. Somewhere along the line it changed.) but Sweet Black Waves definitely made me cry at the end. I knew what was going to happen but lalalalalala don’t want to see itttttt.
11. A book that made you happy?
You guys, I loved this one so. damn. much.
12. The most beautiful book you’ve bought or received in 2018?
Um. I don’t even remember all the books I’ve bought or received in 2018, so don’t be telling me to pick the prettiest one.
13. What books do you need to read by the end of 2018?
I just…I can’t even. I have like 70 ARCs alone, not to mention all of the already published books I own but haven’t read, and the many more that are released weekly (Tuesdays, guys! Every Tuesday!). So, a lot. I need to read a lot by the end of 2018.
This was such a fun tag! Am I the last blogger alive to do it? If you haven’t either, give it a try!
So many books on here that I’ve never seen before but definitely will check out now! I bought Save the Date a few days ago and now I’m even more excited to read it😊

I’ve never heard of Zan Romanoff before, but book her books sound really interesting to me (magical realism is totally my jam). I adored Furyborn, I hope you love it as much when you get to it 😊

I’m so looking forward to A Spark of Light by Jodi Picoult too. And you’re not the last blogger to do the tag; I haven’t either. Maybe I will, if I can make a dent in the big pile of ARCs I have to read. #FreakingOut
Also, If you haven’t already seen it, I nominated you for the Mystery Blogger Award here: https://bookslifeandeverythingnice.wordpress.com/2018/07/09/mystery-blogger-award/
