Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week’s topic: Cozy/Wintry Reads (Make this prompt suit your current season if needs be.
1.The Boy Next Door, by Katie Van Ark. Is this actually a wintry read? WHO KNOWS, but it looks like it from the cover so I’m going with it.
2. Shiver, by Maggie Stiefvater. Perfect winter series with a lovely soft boy.
3. Cold Day in the Sun, by Sara Biren. I’m sad this one won’t be out until March, because it is THE BEST curl-up-hot-chocolate-cozy-read. It’s cold all the time in the story, there is a blizzard that strands our MC at the love interest’s house (along with both of her brothers, his sister, and his parents, sadly. It is not the “oh no there’s only one bed” trope that I live for), and they talk about ice all the time. Amazing.
4. Snowbound (The Baby-sitters Club Super Special #7), by Ann M. Martin. I love all of the Super Specials, but I especially love this one. Getting snowed in at a friend’s house was THE MOST FUN EVER when I was growing up, and reading a whole book about being snowed in at various places was just fantastic.
5. Princess in Love (The Princess Diaries #3), by Meg Cabot. Much like the BSC, I love all of the Princess Diaries books. This one takes place in NYC in December and is as masterful as all the rest.
6. Trapped, by Michael Northrop. Another blizzard/snowed in book, only this one does not turn out so well. It’s not a cozy book, but this survival story is definitely wintry.
7. Top Ten Clues You’re Clueless, by Liz Czukas. Told all in one night, which happens to be Christmas Eve.
8. Bittersweet, by Sarah Ockler. Cupcakes, ice skating, and ice hockey. I love this book.
9. Lovely, Dark and Deep, by Amy McNamara. If you’re unsure of this one, just look at this beyond beautiful cover.
10. The Harry Potter Series, by J.K. Rowling. All of these books feel cozy and warm to me. They’re wintery and they just make me happy.
It was a lot harder than I thought coming up with ten books that were wintery but not Christmasy, but I wanted to save the holiday books for another post. How did you guys do? What did I miss?

Great list! Harry Potter’s always going to have that Christmassy feeling, isn’t it? Not only do we get Christmases at Hogwarts and The Burrow in the book, but I remember being taken to see the first films when I was younger and they came out around Christmas so I have such vivid memories of being driven through snow to the cinema. Top Ten Clues You’re Clueless sounds really cute!

Nice list! I’ve read a few of these and I agree, they’re all very snowy, wintery reads. TRAPPED is an especially memorable one!
