♥ Guys, this one is so crazy and you will spend the whole thing wondering what in the fresh hell is actually going on. The Handmaids Tale x The Crucible x The Lord of the Flies x a little bit of The Beach.
Anybody else remember this movie?
♥ While this book is written in extremes, it’s not really anything that most girls haven’t experienced. We’re all kept in the dark, we’re all told what to do, we’re all told what our futures will be. We’re made to turn against each other when we could take over the world if only we all stood together. We’re told that men know best and to let them lead the way, make the decisions. And not all of us always see past the bullshit or are able to grow up and get away from it. And it’s not any different in this dystopian.
♥ I know I’m not telling you much past the synopsis, but that’s because there’s so much packed in here and you really have to go in open minded and without anything else clouding your expectations. Just know that it’s going to make you mad, and that’s okay. That’s the point. In the end, I turned the last page filled with feminist pride.
