Mini Review: Can you believe I almost DNF this one?? The beginning was a little slow for me, but I wanted to see what was going to happen with everyone so I kept going and BOY am I glad I did! YOU CAN’T TRUST ANYBODY LIKE NO ONE. I don’t event want to say anything else because it’s SO MUCH BETTER to not know but if you’ve read the first one, you definitely want to read this one!

My only regret is that they changed the cover and I super don’t like the new set. But hey, to each their own.

Mini Review:
LOVED this timely book from these two amazing authors. And that cover, I mean, come on! Gorg! We get a white boy who’s awkward and just really loves Target, and Maya who is a Pakistani-American Muslim just trying to earn a car. The two of them together are a slow start as friends, but eventually they’re watching the Office together over the phone and hanging out in the patio section of Target.

But this book is also supposed to make you mad, and it really couldn’t be coming out at a better time with last week’s release of Taylor Swift’s Miss Americana documentary on Netflix, and her new song “Only the Young”. I have such hope for the next generation, that their passion and enthusiasm with be the thing that pulls us out of this political mess we’ve gotten ourselves into.

“You sound like my grandma. She always says that there are at least two good people for every bad person in the world.”

Mini Review: I…didn’t love this one. And that made me sad. I was really excited about it, and it had such a great premise, and some really good starting ideas, but none of them fully fleshed out for me. But listen, it’s got great reviews and everyone but me loves it, so try it yourself and don’t take my word for it.

Mini Review:
Once Cal and Shadow met up and started bickering and slow-burning things really took a turn, but before that it all felt like a big info dump from a history class. And the history was SO CONFUSING the whole way through. By the end I still didn’t really get it.
Excellent slow-burn and banter, but a really slow start to a series and a book that I think could easily be a standalone.

“Today he hasn’t been half as irritating, which I find rather irritating.”

There are a ton more that released today too, so make sure you check everything out!
