Cover Reveal!!! Where Secrets Lie by Eva V. Gibson

You guys know how much I love Together We Caught Fire by Eva V. Gibson. Cubert and I cuddled up to read and reread and reread…

IMG_3834If you didn’t know dog bathrobes were a thing, well, you’re welcome. Cubert likes to be very comfortable while we read.

I wrote a super long gushing review in November of 2019 because I just had to say All The Things. Unplugged Book Box built the BEST self-care box surrounding it, and first copies were available from Eva’s indie signed with copper ink (copper is a whole thing in the book, it’s not just a pretty color) when the book actually released in February 2020.

Eva is always an absolute delight to interact with, but cover reveals are usually put on by publishers or the big blogs. So when Eva asked ME to do it??

I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO EXCITED IN MY LIFE LET’S GOOOOOOO

IMG_3753Mommy, honestly, get to the point

Okay for real, I am so super crazy pleased to show you the cover of Where Secrets Lie, coming in April 2021!!!

WHERE SECRETS LIE cover (1)
Isn’t it gorgeous?? It’s so atmospheric, spooky but still sexy at the same time. I love it so much, and I keep imagining how great the spine is going to look next to the white of TWCF on the shelf. And it goes perfectly with the synopsis:

Told in two interwoven timelines—the summer when everything changed, and the summer that changes everything—Where Secrets Lie is a seductive thriller as dark as it is enthralling.

Amy Larsen has spent every summer with her cousin Ben and their best friend Teddy in River Run, Kentucky, loving country life and welcoming the break from her intensive ambitions and overbearing mother—until the summer she and Teddy confront the changing feelings and simmering sexual tension growing between them, destroying the threesome’s friendship in a dramatic face-off.

One year later, Amy returns to River Run dreading what she might find. But when Teddy’s sister disappears, Amy, Ben and Teddy agree to put aside their differences to search for her. As they dig deeper into the dark history of their small town, all three friends must unearth the truths that tie their families to tragedy, cope with their own toxic upbringings and beliefs, and atone for the damage done to each other and themselves.

It’s shelved as New Adult right now on Goodreads, but I was able to confirm that it is Young Adult. Eva described it to me as a mystery/thriller/coming of age, with a heavy romance subplot and a lot of focus on relationships, family, friendship, and generational trauma.

This one is due to release on April 20, 2021. I personally do not know how I will wait that long, so I suppose I will have to console myself with repeated rereadings of her debut until then.

A bookworm since early childhood, Eva gravitated toward the dark and gritty, reading, then writing, stories with controversial themes and flawed, complicated characters.
She lives in Northern Virginia with her family, surrounded by kids, yarn, pets, and an ever-growing stack of dark and gritty books she will definitely finish reading someday.

I’m HONORED to have been able to edit this book and let me tell you, it’s one I want my children to read. Yes, really.
