Top Ten Tuesday- Characters I’d Love An Update On

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week’s topic is Characters I’d Love An Update On (Where are they now that the book is over?)

How to Love, Katie Cotugno

Does a top ten list exist on Pages and Pugs if Katie Cotugno is not on it somewhere? Let’s hope we never find out.

But this week, I can’t imagine not wanting to find out more about my faves. Katie gave us a tiny update in a newsletter in 2020 that gets us to Hannah’s 4th birthday, but now I need to know what happens after that.

Together We Caught Fire, Eva V. Gibson

When it all dies down, how do Lane and Grey settle into really living as a family? Is it possible for them? Are they happy with the other siblings that they’ve somewhat oddly paired up with? Did Connor ever master knitting? These are the things I need to know.

The Sea of Tranquility, Katja Milay

A. Does Drew get his shit together? B. Does Nastya get her shit together and stop going by Nastya for good, or is a new name what she needs now? C. Does everyone finally stop leaving poor Josh?

Made You Up, Francesca Zappia

This book was fucking heartbreaking, and I just really need to know what happens to Alex after the last page turns.

Sadie, Courtney Summers

Listen, Sadie is probably dead by the end. But she’s not definitely. And I just really really need to know for sure.

But only if she’s not dead.

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, Michelle Hodkin

This book already has a sequel. It has several sequels. It has a spinoff trilogy from Noah’s POV. But the final Noah book is STILL NOT OUT and we have been waiting since 2018. According to Amazon we can expect it in 2050, so I would just REALLY LIKE TO KNOW HOW THIS SHIT ENDS OKAY.

You’d Be Mine, Erin Hahn

In the time since I started putting this together and publishing, Erin Hahn both teased and confirmed the future for these two so never say you can’t get shit done.

Red, White & Royal Blue, Casey McQuiston

I know there are six of them, but they all interconnect and I need to know what each of them are doing now, okay?

The Shadows Between Us, Tricia Levenseller

It is really rare to get a stand-alone fantasy book, and even rarer to get a good one. I loved this! Two bad guys who remain the bad guys all the way through, it’s fantastic. I just need to know what happens after they begin ruling together.

If This Gets Out, Sophie Gonzales & Cale Dietrich

So listen this comes out in a couple weeks, but I predict that in December y’all are going to be wondering too. The book ends in a good place, but I would just really love to jump like ten years and see what’s up with Zach, Ruben, John, and Angel now.

First of all, are YA authors still doing newsletters where they give exclusive content/ideas?? Because if so I need to sign up for like. All of them. Immediately.

Second of all, FOUR FOR YOU ERIN HAHN! YOU GO ERIN HAHN!! This is the content I want!

And since I would never have found this info on my own, fourteen for you, Miss Katie, for bringing this to my attention. Honestly,I’m printing that tweet and slapping it in my copy of You’d Be Mine for posterity (as soon as I get a copy, anyway).

Girl, YES!! You get so many bonus chapters and epilogues and random content from newsletters! Erin Hahn has done stuff from the other bandmates in You’d Be Mine, Katie Cotugno had that *way* too short update on How to Love, Christina Lauren did an bonus chapter to Unhoneymooners. It’s amazing.

Thanks for stopping by, I’m so happy to have you! If you’re into exclusive content, I have a whole series under my “Annotations” section where I shared some truly wonderful stuff from a copy of Red, White, & Royal Blue that the author annotated for me. There are 19 entries, so make sure you start at the beginning!
