Top Ten Tuesday-One-Word Reviews for the Last Ten Books I Read

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week’s topic is One-Word Reviews for the Last Ten Books I Read.

Is it Wednesday instead of Tuesday? It sure is! But I do what I want!

I’m going to try going by the rules Jana set out for herself yesterday: use only ONE word, no repeating words, and no expounding on why you chose each word. I’m also starting from my most recent read and going backwards chronologically.

You know what? I changed my mind. I’m going to make this a one-quote review instead. That feels more like me. Still no explaining, still working backwards chronologically. Let’s give this a try.

“I will good-deed the shit out of this.”

“Sabine snapped back at him, ‘There are no wolves left for the Old Square!’
But the Prime of the wolves had stirred at last, and pointed an ancient, gnarled finder to the screen. To the feed. And he said, ‘One wolf remains in the Old Square.”

“Sometimes I wonder what it’d be like if my life was a movie. Would the audience be rooting for me, or would they think I’m just the worst? Do I think I am?”

“I must have forgotten to check my internalized self-consciousness from years of sexist school dress codes at the door today. That shit runs deep.”

“The past I thought I closed was coming back to haunt me. Ben Laderman, my greatest mistake–the one person in the world who’d seen me at my worst, who’d seen the real me, who I’d thought I’d really, truly loved–was coming back.”

“I could be truly wrathful in my revenge, but at some point, violence gets boring.”

“No one is likable from the inside out.”

“I used to think I was making the calls when we were kids. But I’m starting to see that it’s been her all along. She’s always been the brave one.”

There was something dark in the way Thom was kissing him, like thunderclouds stealing over his thoughts, slow and hot and electric.

Guys I don’t know what to tell you I didn’t write down any quotes when I was reading this.
