If you’re a reader of this blog, you know how much I adore Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston. If you’re new–welcome! And I’m obsessed with this book. I have 4 different copies, the audiobook, and did I just sign up for Book of the Month last week just because RWRB is one of the options for December? YEP I SURE DID!
So a few months ago Casey was part of a charity auction benefiting RAICES (The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services), and I was all over it. Annotated books are SO FUN to me–it’s like getting a behind-the-scenes glimpse of a movie.
But I know how many OTHER people love Red, White & Royal Blue, too. So I don’t want to keep it all to myself! I’m going to attempt to get one of these up every week, several pages at a time.
So here we go, Entry 1! Grab your copy and follow along!
-Other opening scenes for this book included a Vanity Fair story on Zahra 12 years laters.
–Pg. 3:
“Alex started at Georgetown the January his mom was sworn in”
Yes, this means Alex finished college in only 3.5 years
–Pg. 6:
“Alex has since conceded Nora is 100 percent smarter than him and definitely too smart to have ever dated him”
It’s true
–Pg. 7:
“PRINCE PHILIP SAYS I DO!”
Had to change his name after the last royal baby
–Pg. 7:
“I’ve been working on it for Roman Political Thought all week”
A real course at Georgetown
–Pg. 8:
“He rolls off the bed and flips it, resetting the needle, and the second side picks up on “London Luck & Love”
I picked “Rich Girl” for this scene for the vibe/lyrics and this actually just happens to be the first track on the other side
–Pg. 9:
“She’d escaped her tiny hometown in the shadow of Fort Hood”
Ellen’s dad was a military guy who died Vietnam
–Pg. 9:
“Amy, his mother’s favorite Secret Service agent, a former Navy SEAL who is rumored around DC to have killed several men”
First clue that Amy is trans-she transitioned after her service
What do you guys think?? Worth it, not worth it? Do you want to see more every week?
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
